This means that the frequency converter always operates with a high degree of stability – even during line supply fluctuations. To reduce harmonics, up to a power of 250 kW, devices have an integrated DC link reactor. SINAMICS G120X is rugged and can operate in almost any environment: its operating temperature extends from -20°C up to 60°C (depending on the exact version). The converter complies with IP20 with an option for IP21 in UL open type. Coated modules are standard, 3C3 pollutant resistance is optionally available. In addition, a comprehensive service portfolio is available to increase the availability and operation of the system. For the SINAMICS G120X, there is the option of an extended warranty up to 7 ½ years, various migration services and digitalization services. |

It also optimizes the output power to reduce the energy consumption of the driven load. The bypass function* allows the motor to be switched between converter and line operation to reduce energy consumption. The central processing units (CPU) are the heart of the SIMATIC S7-1500 PLC. They execute the user program and network the controller with other automation components. Thanks to numerous innovations, the CPUs of the SIMATIC S7-1500 deliver the ultimate plus in productivity and efficiency.
Scalability, performance and usability
The signal modules or peripheral modules of the SIMATIC S7-1500/ET 200MP form the interface between the controller and the process. Via the connected sensors, the controller records the current process status and triggers corresponding reactions of the actuator. The digital and analog modules provide exactly the inputs/outputs that are required for the respective task. They can be used both centrally, i.e. directly at the SIMATIC S7-1500 CPU, and decentrally in the SIMATIC ET 200MP IO system. Analog modules possess expanded functions like oversampling or clock synchronism.
Technology Modules (TM) – The specialists in the system
Technology modules which can be used either centrally in the SIMATIC S7-1500 or decentrally in the SIMATIC ET 200MP IO system offer signal preprocessing close to the hardware for extremely fast counting and measuring as well as precise position detection for incremental and SSI absolute encoders. The flat IOP-2 Intelligent Operator Panel allows fast local setup, fault diagnostics, and intuitive operation of SINAMICS G frequency converter series and simplifies the adjustment of settings during operation. The intuitive central multifunctional sensor control panel supports users with selectable settings.
There are three methods of using the IOP-2: Directly plugging it into the control unit of the converter, mounting in the door for operation outside the control cabinet, and as an IOP handheld unit for wired operation in difficult-to-access locations.
