SIMOTION C can be used extremely flexibly. In addition to the interfaces already integrated, peripherals from the SIMATIC S7-300 modules range can be added to the motion controller, and it scores wherever maximum flexibility in selecting the drives is required.

The PLC-based system can handle a wide range of processor signals and also manages high-end motion control functionalities, such as path interpolation and distributed gearing.

The SIMOTION C240 and C240 PN variants differ primarily in terms of interfaces. Both controllers have multiple digital inputs and outputs as well as two PROFIBUS interfaces with PROFIdrive and one Industrial Ethernet port.
